Corriculo is a UK national recruitment agency specialising in IT and scientific hiring. Founded in 2013, the brand may be seen by some as a newcomer to the industry, but it is powered by over 60+ years of headhunting expertise within its ranks. Working with a range of national and international employers, Corriculo has steadily built a reputation for “doing recruitment differently”.

THE BRIEF

Corriculo approached Invanity with an idea of what they wanted to achieve.

In April 2021, founder Jonathan Campion requested a small scope of work to help the brand move into the scientific recruitment market. They were already an established IT recruiter in Oxfordshire, but their existing site had been left untouched for some time and no longer accurately reflected their core services. 

 

We quoted to build the additional scientific section into their website and begin driving traffic to it through PPC (Google Ads). Jonathan wanted to run SEO as part of this campaign, but we knew their site wasn’t set up for this. We chose to initially start with PPC, with a view to potentially quoting for a site rebuild and SEO strategy further down the line.

 

Corriculo’s digital success was restricted by its site and CMS. It was slow, clunky and a crawlbot nightmare. The business wasn’t getting enough enquiries online either – leaving us with two brand proposals:

HOW WE ACHIEVED THE RESULTS

In 2021 Corriculo were receiving 70 to 90 online applications per month. As of 2023, they receive an average of 298. How did we do that?

Strong foundations, schema markup and a well-built site.

 

We started in earnest by reviewing the systems and servers Corriculo had in place, and the applicant management/tracking system used. The client had only recently moved over to Bullhorn and a big piece of the puzzle would be integrating this software into the website.

 

From there, our web developers set about building a state-of-the-art recruitment site for the company, with a Bullhorn-integrated job board, Google-friendly job schema and exceptional permalink structures. This site build was paired with an on-page SEO strategy designed to move both applicants and clients towards conversion quickly.

 

This wider project kicked off in November 2021 with a brand unity session at the Corriculo headquarters in Oxford Science Park. At this time, they were getting no more than 700 organic visitors to the site and a very limited number of online applications. 10 months down the line, the new site broke the 1000+ monthly organic users milestone, with 427 online applications and five high-quality client enquiries.

 

Schema had a huge part to play in that visibility and continued success. Where Corriculo initially had between 5-8% of their listings picked up by Google Jobs, they’re regularly hitting 80%+, owing to the quality of the integration and skilled research of the Invanity dev team.

WHAT NEXT?

Corriculo is seeing continued month-on-month growth in impressions and visibility, focusing on both candidate and client attraction. As a result, they’re now expanding overseas into the US. We have already begun sowing the seeds for this transatlantic operation, with a new microsite being pushed live in early 2023 and already picking up traffic. 

On the UK side, Corriculo has found a rhythm of business that is working. From here, we plan to keep the site fresh with the latest web innovations and continue to drive high quality applications and enquiries for their team to work their magic on.
